Medisafe helps you manage and take your medication on time with our first-of-its-kind cloud-synced mobile medication management platform. Medisafe allows your family, friends & caregivers to aid (if you so choose) by being alerted as to whether or not you took your medication.

The main reason is due to battery saving settings and cleaning apps like Clean Master, 360 Security, CM security, Fast Booster and other similar apps. While cleaning your device, these apps terminate Medisafe’s reminders and put your health at risk. You can read about tips for specific devices here.

The personal information you provide to us through your use of the Application is governed by our Privacy Policy. We respect your privacy, and a complete statement of our current privacy policy can be found on our website. We may update our policies and practices from time to time at our sole discretion.

Medisafe doesn’t ask for any unneeded permissions. “Contacts List” – if you choose to add a Medfriend to sync to your meds, a list of contacts will appear for your convenience. Medisafe never stores your address book content and doesn’t access your address book without your permission. “Find accounts on the device” – used in push messaging. In case a family member forgets to take a medication, we will notify you via a push notification, offering the opportunity to intervene.

When you create an account, your data is automatically backed up on our secured servers. This allows you to log back in to your Medisafe account and restore your data should you move to a new device or need to reinstall Medisafe.

2. Choose an avatar and complete your information

3. Tap “Sign Up”

4. Add your email address and a password and tap “Sign Up”

5. Confirm your email and your account will be created

6. Or tap “More” on the bottom menu, tap “Settings”, and tap “Open Account”

In order to reset your password, please follow these steps:

1. Tap on “Log in” (on the first welcome screen, or from the “More” menu inside the app)

2. Tap on “Forgot password?”

3. Enter the email address you used to create an account with Medisafe

If the system doesn’t recognize your previous account, try to use another email, or send us an email to support@medisafe.com

2. Download Medisafe on your new device

3. Tap on “Login” and enter your email address and password

Our number one priority is your health and safety. To ensure you receive your reminders on time, even when your device is offline, you can only be logged into your account on one device at a time.

A Medfriend is a family member, friend or caregiver that you can sync to your App. In case you forget your medication, Medisafe sends push notification to your Medfriend, offering her/him to remind you to take your medication. A Medfriend needs to download Medisafe, and create an account in order to sync with you.

1. Tap on your avatar on the top left to open the side menu

2. Android 5.0 and above: Tap “Invite Medfriend”

Android 4.4.4 or lower: Tap on the area next to your avatar and tap “Invite Medfriend”

3. Enter your Medfriend’s name, choose an avatar and tap “Send”

4. Choose the manner in which you would like to send the code – email, text message, etc.

5. Your Medfriend will receive an email or text message with your invitation code

6. Your Medfriend will tap on the link to open their Medisafe app and they will be automatically synced to you. If your Medfriend does not have Medisafe installed on their device, the link will instruct them to download Medisafe and enter the invite code

7. Tap “OK” on the “Hooray!” popup

Email us at support@medisafe.com if you experience any issues adding a Medfriend.

3. Enter your dependent’s name, choose an avatar and tap “Done”

4. You can then add their medications

In order to delete a Medfriend or Dependent, please follow these steps:

1. Tap on your avatar on the top left to open the side menu

2. Tap on the “Medfriend” or “Dependent” you want to delete

3. Tap on their avatar twice

4. Tap “Delete”

Android 5.0 or higher:

1. Tap “Medications” on the bottom menu

2. Long press on the medication to add a dose

3. Alternatively, tap “Home” on the bottom menu, tap on the ‘+’ on the bottom right and tap “Add dose”

Below Android 5.0:

1. Tap on the “Side Menu” on the top left

2. Tap on “Medications”

3. Long press on the medication to add a dose

4. Alternatively tap on the ‘+’ on the bottom right and tap “Add dose”

This schedule allows you to set your medications for specific intervals, such as every 3 days and weekly medications. When you add a medication, please follow these steps:

1. Tap “Schedule”

2. Tap “Specific days of the week” and choose the days required to take the medication

3. Tap “Days interval” and tap on the ‘+’ to set the desired interval between doses of medication

Android 5.0 or higher:

In order to delete a medication:

1. Tap “Medications” on the bottom menu

2. Tap on the medication you want to delete

3. Tap on the trash can icon on the top right

4. Choose if you would like to save or delete the medication history

Alternatively you can do the following:

1. Tap on a dose of the medication on the “Home” screen

2. Tap on the trash can icon on the top right

3. Tap “All future doses”

4. Choose if you would like to save or delete the medication history

Below Android 5.0.

In order to delete a medication, please follow these steps:

1. Tap on the “Side Menu” on the top left

2. Tap “Medications”

3. Tap on the medication you want to delete

4. Tap on the trash can icon on the top right

5. Choose if you would like to save or delete the medication history

In order to delete a specific dose, please follow the steps below:

1. Tap on the dose you want to delete

2. Tap on the trash can icon on the top right

3. Tap “Only this dose”

Android 5.0 or higher:

In order to edit a medication:

1. Tap “Medications” on the bottom menu

2. Tap on the medication you want to edit

3. Tap on the pencil icon on the top right

Alternatively, you can do the following steps:

1. Tap on a dose of the medication on the “Home” screen

2. Tap on the pencil icon on the top right

3. Tap “All future doses”

Below Android 5.0:

In order to edit a medication, please follow these steps:

1. Tap on the “Side Menu” on the top left

2. Tap on “Medications”

3. Tap on the medication you want to edit

4. Tap on the pencil icon on the top right

5. When you are done editing, tap on “Save”

Android 5.0 or higher:

1. Tap “More” on the bottom menu and tap “Settings”

2. Tap “General Settings” and tap “Pillbox Hours” under Pillbox Setup

3. Choose your morning, afternoon, evening, and night hours

Below Android 5.0:

1. Tap on your side menu and tap “Settings”

2. Tap “General Settings” and tap “Pillbox Hours” under Pillbox Setup

3. Choose your morning, afternoon, evening, and night hours

Android 5.0 or higher:
Tap “Updates” on the bottom menu to access your updates and articles
Below Android 5.0:
Tap on your side menu on the top left and tap “Updates” to access your updates and articles

In order to add a note to your medication, please follow these steps:

1. Tap on your dose in your “Home” screen

2. Tap on the pencil icon on the top right

3. Tap “Only this dose”

4. Tap on “Add Notes”

When adding (first tap “More Options”) or editing a medication:

1. Select “Prescription Refill”

2. Enter how many pills of your med that you currently have

3. Turn on the “Refill Reminder” toggle

4. Input the remaining amount of meds upon which you want to be reminded

5. Set the time for your “Refill Reminder” notification

To set your default amount of meds in your settings:

1. Tap “More” on the bottom menu, tap “Settings” and tap “General Settings”

2. Tap “Default Number of pills” under RX Refill

3. Choose your default number of pills remaining before you receive a refill reminder

If you do not want to receive refill reminders, please do the following:

1. Tap “Medications” on the bottom menu

2. Tap on the medication

3. Tap the pencil icon on the top right

4. Tap “Prescription Refill” and turn off the “Refill Reminder” toggle

5. Tap “Save”

You can now add your prescribing doctor to your medications. You can then send them a progress report of the medications they prescribed. To add them, please follow these steps:

1. Android 5.0 or higher: Tap “More” on the bottom menu

Below Android 5.0: Tap on the “Side Menu” on the top left corner

2. Tap “Doctors” and tap on the ‘+’

3. Enter your doctor’s information and tap “Done”

4. Tap on your doctor’s name under “Doctors” and tap “Medications”

5. Tap “Select prescribed meds” and choose your meds

Android 5.0 or higher:

1. Tap “More” on the bottom menu

2. Tap “Appointments” and tap on the ‘+’

3. Enter your appointment details and tap “Done”

Below Android 5.0:

1. Tap on the “Side Menu” on the top left corner

2. Tap “Appointments” and tap on the ‘+’

3. Or tap on the ‘+’ on the bottom right and tap “Add Appointment”

4. Enter your appointment details and tap “Done”

Android 5.0 or higher:

Do you want to send your status report to your doctor? Please follow these steps:

1. Tap “More” on the bottom menu

2. Tap “Report”

3. Tap “Send Status Report”

4. You can select the recipient, edit the dates and tap the arrow icon on the top right to send your report

4. Pick your weekend days

3. You can then change your reminder and popup settings

Medisafe strives to provide ‘information that you need, when you need it’ kind of experience on Android Wear. Notification cards will show up on your smartwatch when it’s time to take your medications – you don’t need to configure anything.
When it’s time to take a medication, the smartwatch will show a notification card with the medication information and actions that you can take (in parallel with the notification on the mobile device).
In addition, if the smartwatch’s screen happens to be on, at the time of your medication reminder (not the black/white screen), you will see a white screen with a ‘shake to take’ function – shake your wrist and the pill will be marked as taken!
Your pill reminders for today are synced with the smartwatch, so even if it is not connected to the phone you’ll see a reminder on the smartwatch.

Currently, Medisafe supports only Android Wear.

If you have an Android Wear, please follow these steps:

1. Open the ‘Android Wear’ app on your phone

2. Go to Settings and tap on ‘Resync apps’

3. Wait for a couple of moments for the apps to be resynced to your smartwatch

Now, next time you need to take a medicine, your smartwatch should show a notification card from Medisafe.

This feature is only available for US users.

Android 5.0 or higher:

1. Tap “More” on the bottom menu and tap “Settings”

2. Tap “Import meds from your pharmacy/clinic”

3. Tap on your pharmacy or search for your clinic

4. Enter your username and password and tap “Connect”

5. Select your medications and tap “Next”

6. Tap on the highlighted meds to set the schedule and then tap “Done”

7. Your meds will then be imported to your app

Below Android 5.0:

1. Tap on your side menu and tap “Settings”

2. Tap “Import meds from your pharmacy/clinic”

3. Tap on your pharmacy or search for your clinic

4. Enter your username and password and tap “Connect”

5. Select your medications and tap “Next”

6. Tap on the highlighted meds to set the schedule and then tap “Done”

7. Your meds will then be imported to your app

If your medications do not come through after 24 hours, please contact us at support@medisafe.com

This feature is only available on devices running Android 6.0 or higher.

1. Tap “More” on the bottom menu and tap “Settings”

3. Tap on “Home” and “Work” and type in your address

4. When you get your popup notification, tap on the snooze icon and select until home/work

1. Ask your doctor to sign up at get.medisafe.com/providers

2. Your doctor can then send you an invitation

Medisafe’s co-founding brothers started the company when their diabetic father accidentally double-dosed on insulin and suffered an emergency. They understood that if they were more involved in reviewing their father’s daily medication and insulin regimens, it could help him get healthier.

Sound in silent mode is not supported on some Android devices and some operating system versions and we had to remove this option. Currently the sound will use the same volume level of your device sound.

When adding or editing a medication:

1. Turn off ‘Reminder Times’ – it will then read ‘Take as needed’

2. Tap ‘Done’

To add a dose, use one of the following methods:

– Tap on the ‘+’ on the bottom right of your pillbox and tap ‘Add Dose’

– Tap ‘Medications’ and long press the med to add

This feature is only available when the app language is in English.

3. Tap on the “Interactions” tab to see possible interactions

When you are about to run out of your med, you will get a reminder at the requested time every day until you refill your meds.

1. Tap “Medications” on the bottom menu

2. Tap on the medication

3. Tap the pencil icon on the top right

4. Turn off the “Reminder times” toggle. It will then read “Take as needed”

5. Tap “Done”

You will stop receiving regularly scheduled reminders for this med, but can you can keep tracking it by adding doses when needed.

To add a dose, use one of the following methods:

– Tap on the ‘+’ at the bottom right of your pillbox and tap “Add Dose”

– Tap “Medications” and long press the med to add a dose

If you schedule this dose in the future, you will receive a reminder for this dose.

5. Enter the person’s email address or phone number, tap “Send” and then tap “Done”

6. Your friend will receive an email or message with a link

7. If your friend has Medisafe, the link will open the app and you will be automatically synced as Medfriends

8. If your friend does not have Medisafe, the link will send them to the app store

9. Once they download Medisafe and open the app, you will be automatically synced

Be sure to allow your notifications in order to be notified if your Medfriend misses a med.

2. Under “Medfriends”, tap on your Medfriend’s profile twice

3. Turn on the toggle “Share my meds with this Medfriend”

In order to delete a Medfriend or Dependent, please follow these steps:

1. Tap on your avatar on the top left

2. Tap on the avatar of your Medfriend or Dependent

3. Tap on their avatar again and tap “Delete” at the bottom of their profile

4. Alternatively, you can tap “More” on the bottom menu, tap “Settings”, and then tap “Manage Users”

5. Tap on the Medfriend or Dependent and tap “Delete”

Please try the following to turn on notifications and sounds:

1. Go to iPhone settings.

2. Scroll down application list and tap on Medisafe.

3. Tap on notifications.

4. Turn on Allow Notifications.

5. Turn on Sounds, Badge App Icon and Show on Lock Screen.

If your problem is not resolved, send us an email at support@medisafe.com

Please try and check the following:

1. Go to iPhone settings.

2. Tap on “Notifications”

3. Tap on Medisafe

4. Check that the “Sound” toggle is turned on

5. Check your mute button is not selected on the side of your device

6. If all settings are correct, force reboot your device and you should get your notification sound

In order to edit a medication, please follow these steps:

1. Tap “Medications” on the bottom menu

2. Swipe left on a medication and select “Edit”

3. Or tap on the medication and tap “Edit” on the top right

4. When you are done editing, tap “Update”

In order to delete a medication, please follow these steps:

1. Tap “Medications” on the bottom menu

2. Tap on the medication you want to delete and tap “Edit” on the top right

3. Scroll down to the bottom and tap “Delete”

4. Choose if you would like to save or delete the medication history

You can now add your prescribing doctor to your medications. You can then send them a progress report of the medications they prescribed. To add them, please follow these steps:

1. Tap “More” on the bottom menu

2. Tap “Doctors” and tap on the ‘+’ on the top right

3. Enter your doctor’s information and tap “Save”

4. Tap on your doctor’s name under “Doctors” and tap “Medications”

5. Tap “Select prescribed meds” and choose your meds

Follow these steps to add an appointment:

1. Tap “More” on the bottom menu

2. Tap “Appointments” and tap on the ‘+’ on the top right

3. Enter your appointment details and tap “Save”

1. Tap “More” on the bottom menu and then tap “Report”

2. Tap “Send”

3. Tap “Send Status Report” for a report that includes medication adherence and measurements

4. You can then edit the start and end date and the medication to include on the report

5. Tap “Send” on the top right

6. Alternatively, tap “More” on the bottom menu and tap “Doctors”

7. Tap on your doctor and tap “Send status report to doctor”

8. Enter the recipient’s email address and tap “Send”

1. Tap “More” on the bottom menu and then tap “Report”

2. Tap “Last Week” on the top left and edit the time frame to your preference

3. Tap “All Meds” on the top right and select the medication to include on the report

4. Tap “Send” and then tap “Export to Excel”

5. Enter your email address and tap “Send”

2. Tap “Pillbox Hours”

3. Choose your morning, afternoon, evening, and night start hours

2. Enter the medication information and tap “Done” for a new med or “Update” for an existing med

To add a dose, pick one of the following steps:

– Tap on the ‘+’ on the top right of your pillbox, tap “Add Dose” and choose your medication from the list.

– Tap “Medications”, tap on the medication, and then tap “Add Dose” on the bottom right

You can swipe right on your pillbox to go back to that day. Tap on the dose in your pillbox and long press on “Take”. You can then choose when you took your med.

When you add a medication, tap on your reminder time and tap on the 1 under “Quantity”. You can then manually type 0.5 and tap “Done”.

When you are about to run out of your med, you will get a reminder at the requested time every day until you refill your medication.

4. Turn off the “Refill Reminder” toggle

Otherwise, you’d have to enter all your meds over again because we have no way of matching you to your history.

Medisafe is a free app —  you can go to Google Play or the App Store and download and use it for free. So-called  “paid apps” require you to pay up to $59.99 to download before you can use them at all.
